Freshwater
Stream Fishing

Fish some of the most remote lakes and streams in the Alaskan wilderness.

Many people book an Alaska fishing vacation with the saltwater fishing in mind, but in addition to being a place where you can find some of your favorite saltwater fish, you can participate in freshwater stream fishing during your stay at Pybus Point Lodge. Our guides know the best places to take you for an afternoon on the river with a fly rod or spin-caster. Because of a significant local brown bear population in the national forest around the lodge, guides accompany every guest on their freshwater fishing tours to ensure your safety and keep you out of dangerous areas.

Includes Everything You Need

Freshwater fishing tours come with boots or waders, fly rods, spin rods, and any other gear you need, as well as an experienced guide who can show you some techniques, or simply sit back and watch as you fish on your own. In the local rivers you will find a variety of salmon and Dolly Varden trout and depending on the time of year.

Remote Access

We also have options to visit some of the most remote lakes in the Alaskan wilderness that are only accessible through the air. An additional charge applies for these fly-in adventures, but they give you the chance to see and fish some of the most pristine spots in the world and catch some native cutthroat trout.

Amazing Alaska Lodge!

We have been all over Alaska lodges, cruises, b&b and nothing can compare to this amazing lodge. You can catch fish, watch whales, view wildlife, eat great food, warm, clean and luxury rooms but the best thing of all was the wonderful service! From the owners taking personal time to make you feel like family and the entire staff making every moment special it could have been no better. This was our first trip to pybus point and we have already signed up to come back next year!

Rename to Paradise Point Lodge

A few friends I’ve kept in touch with since college have been wanting to do a trip together for the last 5 years or so. After deciding on Alaska, we researched different lodges and ultimately decided Pybus Point was where we wanted to go. We could not have been more pleased with the experience as a whole and it was so much more than just a fishing trip. Pybus Point is truly located in paradise.

Wonderful and Magical Place

We had an amazing business retreat to Pybus Point Lodge.  Everything was top notch... the fishing, the staff, the boat captains, the food, the accommodations, and especially the scenery.    I really liked that Pybus took care of everything from start to finish. Chef John is an amazing cook. We had delicious hot meals the entire trip.  The cabins were amazing and very comfortable.  The fishing was awesome and that’s coming from a guy that doesn’t fish that much.

We brought home 100lbs of fish!

My wife and I spent a week at Pybus Point this Summer. We had a beautiful, private room overlooking the bay and our own new, ensuite, private bathroom. What an amazing place for couples to get away together. We set our own breakfast time, met our boat captain after, fished the day along, and returned to clean up and enjoy a nice dinner at the restaurant. Next time Alaska is on the trip list, Sherrie and I will go together, and it will be to Pybus Point!

Fun in Alaska

This was my first trip to Pybus Point. I stayed in one of their new cabins. The accommodations were incredible, the view onto the bay in the mornings was stunning. I loved the staff and the food was really very good. All of this and they have new boats to take you out onto fairly calm waters to fish. The fishing guides were great. Overall a great experience. Definitely going back.
